Lighting Design & Installation

ElectricalPro has been designing and installing lighting since 2003, for homes and for business premises. Lighting does more than light a room. It sets the mood, picks out architectural features, improves safety and security, and cuts your power bill when you move off old halogen or fluorescent fittings to LED. We have worked on everything from small residential renovations to large commercial fitouts, including a full mood lighting design for Williams Accounting.

The work ranges from swapping downlights and converting a house to LED through to a full redesign for a renovation, new build or outdoor entertaining area. LED conversion is our most popular upgrade. Replacing old halogen downlights with LED equivalents typically cuts lighting energy use by 80 percent, with better light quality and much less heat. We plan light temperature, placement, layering and control to suit the space.

Smart switches replace the existing ones and work with the wiring already there.

Outdoors we install security lighting on motion sensors, garden and landscape lighting that brings a yard to life after dark, pathway lighting for safe footing at night, and feature lighting aimed at trees, water features or architectural elements. Every outdoor fitting is IP-rated and weatherproof, because it has to cope with scorching summer heat as well as winter rain and frost in the Adelaide Hills.

Smart lighting has become affordable and reliable. With smart switches, dimmers and colour-temperature adjustable bulbs you can run the lights from your phone, set schedules that come on at sunset and off at bedtime, save scenes for movie night or dinner, and link to Google Home or Amazon Alexa.
